Embedded Consultants

Traditionally, IT consultants study a problem, deliver a report, and leave. We recommend going the extra mile: embedding one of our Staff Engineers, Team Leads, or Senior Engineers within your team's meetings and workflow. Your employees and contractors adopt our tools, methodologies, and best practices directly, fill skill gaps quickly, and fix mistakes before they become tech debt.

What You Get

Part of Your Team

Our engineer joins your daily workflow, not as a separate vendor. In practice:

  • Joins your stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives;
  • Works in your tools and repositories;
  • Works on your team's priorities.

What you receive: a senior engineer who works like a team member, not an outside consultant.

Knowledge Transfer

Your team learns by working alongside us. In practice:

  • Pairing sessions on real tasks;
  • Documented practices and decisions;
  • Workshops on tools and methodologies.

What you receive: a team that keeps the skills after the engagement ends.

Skill Gap Coverage

Bring in the expertise your team lacks today while your people build it for tomorrow. In practice:

  • Expertise in areas such as architecture, DevOps, or security;
  • Hands-on help with the hardest tasks;
  • Guidance while your people learn.

What you receive: progress on critical work now, and a team that can handle it later.

Code Reviews & Mentoring

Hands-on reviews and pairing that raise the quality bar. In practice:

  • Reviews on every important change;
  • Feedback that explains the why, not just the what;
  • One-on-one mentoring for developers.

What you receive: higher code quality across the codebase and developers who grow faster.

Tech Debt Prevention

Catch mistakes before they compound into tech debt. In practice:

  • Spotting risky patterns early;
  • Refactoring before problems grow;
  • Standards the whole team agrees on and follows.

What you receive: a codebase that stays stable and cheaper to change.

Flexible Engagement

Scaled up or down as your team grows. In practice:

  • Hourly, fixed, or per-milestone billing;
  • Part-time or full-time involvement;
  • Adjustments as your needs change.

What you receive: the right level of senior support, for as long as you need it.

How We Work

A transparent, predictable process from first contact to ongoing support

Roadmap

01 – Discovery

We start by listening. Please call us, send an email, or book a video call. We’d like to hear about the project you want to build or the problem you would like to solve, what you’ve tried so far, and any deadlines or budget constraints. If we need to look at your existing project before recommending a direction, we’ll discuss that next step with you.

  • Initial call to discuss your goals and constraints
  • Review of existing systems or requirements

02 – NDA

An NDA is a document designed to protect your ideas, business plans, and any other sensitive information you can’t discuss with everyone.

While the NDA is listed as the second step in this workflow, it can be signed at any point, even before the discovery call. It doesn’t cost you anything, so please feel free to ask for it whenever necessary.

03 – Proposal

After evaluating your requirements, we send you a proposal. Normally, that’s a Master Service Agreement (MSA) plus a Scope of Work (SoW).

The MSA sets out the general terms of how we work together. Each Statement of Work (SoW) then defines the scope, responsibilities, timeline, and pricing for a specific engagement.

The SoW is where we define the project, timeline, budget, acceptance criteria, and everything else not covered by the MSA.

If you decide to give us more work (and why not, we’re quite good at IT), we don’t sign another MSA. We simply sign a new SoW under the same MSA.

04 – Engagement

Once agreed, we get to work.

The SoW sets out what we’ll deliver, the timeline, and our responsibilities. We’ll keep you updated as the work progresses and discuss any issues that could affect delivery.

05 – Delivery

We deliver the work defined in the Statement of Work (SoW) and review it with you against the agreed acceptance criteria. Depending on the engagement, this may include deploying software, handing over code and documentation, or presenting findings and recommendations.

Software Development projects: full code ownership, no licensing or royalties. 30 days of code warranty included.

06 – Support

Support is optional and mainly applies to software development projects rather than advisory engagements.

If you need help after launch or ongoing software maintenance, we can discuss retainer options. You decide whether you’d like us to stay involved after delivery.

  • Ongoing maintenance and bug fixes as needed
  • Flexible support agreements, no long-term lock-in
  • Direct line back to the team that built it
